MANDER PORTMAN WOODWARD (MPW)

A-levels and GCSE

Mander Portman Woodward College, popularly known as MPW was founded 41 years ago and has been preparing students for the UK's top universities, art and medical schools ever since.  It has 3 campuses in London, Cambridge and Birmingham.

MPW's method is to teach students in very small classes (maximum 8) supported by extra 1:1 lunchtime  "surgeries" (tutoring), workshops and unlimited help with university application. This includes specialist preparation for Oxbridge, medicine, dentistry, law, engineering and art and design courses.

Students stay in fully supervised (by live-in Houseparent's) student residences - all single rooms or studios, some with en-suite facilities - within walking distance of the schools, or with local families, depending on their preference.  Students may also stay with local British families if they wish.

MPW's teachers write a series of university entrance guides, highlighting our expertise in university applications.  These include, "Getting into Oxford and Cambridge", "Getting into Law", "Getting into Medical School", and many more.

In addition to running the  normal 2-year A-Level course starting each September,  and a special 1 1/2-year A-Level course, starting each January targeted at Singapore, Malaysian, South East Asian and China students, MPW also runs a very successful 1-year (in special cases, 6-month) repeat A-Level retake course starting in September each year, (or in January for the 6-month course).  Students who have not done well in their first attempt at A-Levels who have taken the retake course have gone on to achieve outstanding results and have gone on to good universities to fulfill their ambition, including reading medicine.

Its International Director, based in Thailand, looks after students in this part of the world and he visits students and parents on a regular basis, averaging once every 3-4 months.  He also lends a helping to students after their enrollment, particularly with regards to their university application.

The tuition fees depend on location and number of subjects taken. The average tuition fee per term for 2020 is Â£9,905 (£29,715 per year) for London and Â£6,920 (£20,760 per year) for Birmingham.
